Bite-sized Torah on Geula and Moshiach. Here are the questions we hear most often, organized by who, what, where, when, why, and how.
A quick note on terms: Moshiach refers to the flesh-and-blood person — a righteous leader from the line of King David — who will usher in the messianic age. Geula (Redemption) refers to that messianic age itself: the era of universal peace, revealed G-dliness, and the rebuilding of the Beis Hamikdash. On this site we use the two terms interchangeably, because you can’t really talk about one without the other.
Who
Who is Moshiach?
A flesh-and-blood Jewish leader — a descendant of King David. He doesn’t have to be alive right now; the Sdei Chemed says G-d can bring back a leader who already passed away.
Who will experience the Redemption?
Everyone — all of humanity. It starts with all Jewish people being gathered in the Land of Israel, the Temple being rebuilt, and G-d’s presence being openly revealed in the world.
What
What is Geula?
Geula means Redemption. Right now G-d’s presence is hidden — the world looks like it’s running on its own. Geula is when that concealment ends and we see G-dliness openly.
What will the world look like in the era of Moshiach?
Maimonides says: no wars, no famine, no jealousy, no competition. The good things of this world will be as abundant as sand. The world’s only occupation will be to know G-d.
Where
Where will the Redemption begin?
It centers on the Land of Israel. The Talmud (Eruvin 43b) says Elijah the Prophet will announce Moshiach’s arrival in Tiberias the day before he comes. The Rebbe revealed in 1991 that Elijah is already making that announcement daily — all we need is to want it enough to hear it.
When
When will Moshiach come?
Nobody knows the exact time. But the Rambam says we must believe he can come today — literally today. Thinking ‘someday, eventually, maybe’ isn’t really belief.
Why
Why is learning about Moshiach important?
Like tasting the cholent before Shabbos — you get a preview of something good that’s almost here. This site helps you know what’s coming so you’re ready to receive it.

This is a one-person project built on the conviction — based on the Rebbe’s teaching — that learning what Torah says about Moshiach and Geula from authentic sources is the quickest way to help bring the actual Geula.

How can I hasten the Redemption?
Learn — study what the Torah says about Moshiach and Geula from authentic sources, like the Gems page. Yearn — genuinely want the Redemption to come and ask Hashem for it in your own words. Do mitzvos with intention — when you do a mitzvah, pause for a moment and quietly think: “I’m doing this to help bring Moshiach.”
