The Zohar (Vayera 119a) states that the redemption must be complete before year 6000. The process begins earlier, but Moshiach must arrive and everything must be fully finished by then. He can come any time, as that is simply the latest possible moment.

You prepare differently when you know the destination is fixed and the deadline is real. It’s like checking the weather before a trip: you look ahead so you know what to expect and can pack accordingly. The same is true for Moshiach. The more you understand what’s coming, the more deliberately you can prepare.
